What Materials Are Used For The Impeller Of Submersible Pumps?

Leave a message

The lifting and discharge of liquid by a submersible pump is achieved by the rotation of the impeller driven by the electric motor drive shaft. The impeller form and material of the selected submersible pump vary depending on the liquid being transported.
The material of submersible pump impellers mainly includes five categories: cast iron impellers, aluminum alloy impellers, brass impellers, stainless steel impellers, plastic impellers, etc. Neutral liquids generally require cast iron impellers, brass impellers for oil materials, and aluminum alloy impellers, stainless steel, or plastic materials for hygienic food grade fluid materials. For corrosive liquids, brass impellers, stainless steel impellers, and plastic impellers should be selected for greater corrosiveness.
There are three types of submersible pump impellers: closed, semi open, and open. For ordinary liquids without particle fibers, closed impellers are optional. Conversely, semi open and open impellers should be considered to facilitate the passage of the liquid. Open impellers can be used for those with larger and more granular fibers, semi open impellers can be used for those with fewer particles, and closed impellers can be used for liquids without granular fibers.
